Reflections of a brill wedding season...

Updated: Jun 25, 2021

I have said a few times that the best part of being a wedding photographer is watching the couple's reaction as they see their wedding photos for the first time!

I'm writing this after having a coffee with Lauren and Kyle. Their wedding day was at Stretton Church and Hoar Cross Hall just over a week ago and all their meticulous planning really showed. Amazing venue, the room had been prepared to a very high standard; a close hand magician that left the guests stunned. A lovely couple as with many of the people I have worked with this year.

So many great memories and a lot of new friends. I always enjoy seeing the friends and family reactions via social media and have been humbled by their kind comments. You can see some of the feedback here.

A couple of weeks earlier Charly and Mark tied the knot at Blackfordby Church, another new venue for me this year, as was Ticknall Village Hall, where there reception was held. A lovely place with grounds perfect for photographs. I've actually had three weddings there this season, with Kirstie and Marcin and before that Julie and Stuart.

The terrific summer really helped as you normally have a nervous look at the forecast as the wedding day approaches, but this year was a real belter. Hayley and Chris married at Weston on Trent and in their words it was like they were getting married abroad.

I also had some weddings closer to home, capturing the wedding memories for friends Tracey and Dave, a couple of weddings at Newhall Church for friends Kayleigh and Gaz as well as new friends Jade and Richard.

I have just one more wedding next weekend for Michelle and Dave at the Riverside in Branston, before the cameras get a well deserved rest. If you would like to see some of the photos from this year, please have a look at the weddings page.

Then I'll start to think about next year. The diary is pretty full again, but if you know someone I can help by all means ask them to get in touch.

As always, thanks for reading.
